The city of Anchorage is one of those magical places that really defines Alaska. Perched along the shores of Cook Inlet and with commanding views of the Chugach Mountains, Anchorage is a small that city that is big on adventure.

Anchorage is based on a grid system, so getting lost here or straying too far from the hotels is for all practical purposes impossible. (Locals tip - The numbered streets run north/south and the east/west streets are alphabetical.) Additionally, there are some pretty great sights to see while on your post-meal walk. Earthquake park, Ship Creek (with it's Salmon runs) and the 10-mile Tony Knowles Coastal Trail make this not only a fun and educational city to be walking around in, but a picturesque one too!
